PHYSIOTHERAPY

Janice Eveleigh PT

DPT, BScPT, BSc, CredMDT, CAFCI

Janice has a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years. She began her career when she graduated from the University of Toronto with degrees in human physiology and physics before completing her degree in physical therapy.  

She is a lifelong learner and has pursued postgraduate studies in various areas, including manual therapy, acupuncture/dry needling, taping, vestibular therapy, and treatment of balance disorders. Her dedication to her profession has earned her full credentials through the Mckenzie Institute International in mechanical diagnosis and therapy of the spine, and certification in acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada in 1997. Janice later completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy through EIM Institute of Health Professions, USA. 

Janice is widely respected in the community, having been voted the "Best Physiotherapist" by the local News Advertiser. She has been a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 1992, is a member of their Orthopaedic, Acupuncture, and Seniors’ Health divisions and has chosen to limit her practice to musculoskeletal conditions.

She is the author of “Running on Science: The exercise professional’s evidence-based framework for measuring fitness and reducing injury risk.” She demonstrates her expertise in this field through her online gait analysis services, which she provides to runners worldwide. Janice's passion for providing evidence-based care and her commitment to continued learning make her a sought-after expert in her field.

 

PHYSIOTHERAPY

Adriana Tomarchio PT

MSc (PT), BSc (Kin)

Adriana graduated from Robert Gordon University in Scotland in 2021 with a Masters in Physiotherapy (MScPT). In 2015, she graduated with Honours from Brock University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She was previously a Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario and was the former kinesiologist for the clinic (formerly Whitby Civic Physiotherapy Centre) from 2015-2018. 

Adriana aims to help her patients through a holistic, collaborative and evidence- based approach. She uses techniques such as mobilizations, soft tissue release, rehabilitation exercises, kinesio tape and modalities. She has a passion for helping others with a focus on athletic, orthopaedic and chronic conditions. 

She is also a member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. Adriana is actively involved with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada, Ostomy Toronto, as well as advocating for invisible disabilities.

Outside of work, Adriana enjoys dancing, movies, working out, hiking, sports and spending time with family and friends. 

CHIROPRACTIC / ACUPUNCTURE

Dr. Tessa Lam

BHSc (Hons), DC

Dr. Tessa Lam attended the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) where she studied kinesiology and was introduced to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) bridge program during her freshman year. In June 2018, Tessa became the first person to graduate from the UOIT-CMCC bridge program which allowed her to complete a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) in Kinesiology degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in seven years, instead of eight.

Tessa's objective is to help her patients reach their health goals through individualized, evidenced-based care. She uses a variety of techniques such as spinal and extremity manipulations/mobilizations, acupuncture, myofascial release, rehabilitation exercises, kinesio tape, and modalities.

At the age of 15, Tessa was first introduced to field lacrosse and has been playing ever since. During her three years at UOIT, Tessa was the goalie for the Women's Lacrosse team. Tessa is currently the assistant coach for Ontario Tech University's Women's Lacrosse team. She continues to be an active member of the Lady Blue Knights Lacrosse Association as a player, coach, and as the Executive Director.

Tessa grew up in Brooklin and enjoys practicing in her hometown.

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY

Shannon Simon RMT

Shannon graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in 2004 with honors. After graduation, Shannon began working in Physiotherapy clinics in Durham Region. Shannon grew up in Oshawa and throughout her youth played many sports including soccer. She has additional training in pregnancy massage/acupressure for pregnancy, Myofascial Release and several courses in orthopedic injuries and whiplash related injuries.

Shannon began working at Whitby Civic Physiotherapy in 2011 and has built up an extensive clientele. Shannon keeps herself busy with her 2 teenage daughters who are very active in sports. In addition to treating adults, Shannon is also comfortable treating children.

 

REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPY

Beth Hurren RMT

Beth grew up in Pickering and graduated from Fleming College’s RMT program in 2011. She has been active in ringette since she was six, has been a member of team Canada, and continues to remain active in the sport. She has special interest in treating sports injuries.

Jessica Wiersma R.KIN

Jessica is a Registered Kinesiologists with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. She graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Kinesiology and Physical Education in 2018. She also completed a graduate diploma in Applied Health Sciences through Western University with a concentration in health across the lifespan. Jessica is an avid sports fan and can be found cheering on Toronto FC with her family. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and playing soccer.

Lisa Walters

BPHE, ATTH, C Ped (C), MAT Jumpstart Certified


Lisa uses a multidimensional approach to assess the root cause of your pain or discomfort. With a background in Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Pedorthics and Muscle Activation Technique, Lisa can draw from a vast educational and experiential background to help you get back to moving better, and with less pain. With a Bachelor degree in Physical Health and Education from Laurentian University, a Certificate in Athletic Therapy from York University, numerous Personal Training, Yoga and Fitness Certifications, Muscle Activation Technique Jumpstart Trainer Certification and being a Certified Pedorthist in Canada, Lisa has a very strong background in assessing and treating the human body. As well, Lisa has worked with several multidisciplinary clinics, multiple sports teams including hockey, football, soccer and rugby, and in the film and television industry allows Lisa to use an eclectic approach to bring you the best treatment options.

Lisa has a passion for helping people live active, healthy lifestyles. Having gone through numerous knee surgeries, but wanting to continue to participate in competitive sport, Lisa developed a drive to learn about the latest treatments and research. Lisa continues to participate in elite level volleyball and many other sports and activities.
